This is a well hand-crafted violin. When I first received it, it was packaged nicely to make sure that nothing had gone wrong in shipping. I opened the box to find a nice case holding a very nice violin. It was well protected because when I opened it, not a single thing was out of place. It's lightweight but great for a first violin to learn on. While it's not the top of the line violin, I love it and wouldn't think twice about picking it up to practice. I would say it sounds good but coming from someone who has only played a couple of times, I need more practice. But for the sounds of the strings themselves, they can be easily tuned if you have the proper tuner. If not, you'll still get a great sound from the strings.
