Just some ramblings of an aerialist who loves to make things while traveling.

About Me

Welcome to my blog! This is where I am supposed to tell you a little bit about me but most of you probably already know something or another or else you wouldn't be here in the first place. Or maybe you randomly found my blog and just want to see what it's about. Either way, welcome to my blog!
The first thing you should know about me is that I am adventurous and am not afraid to try something new. I started running back in 2009 and have run a couple of 5ks, half marathons, and am training for my first full marathon. So far I have run: Country Music 1/2 Marathon (2010) San Diego 1/2 Marathon (2012) and the Denver 1/2 Marathon (2014).
In addition to running, I love anything outdoors! My husband and I can be found out hiking, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and camping. We are doing something pretty much every weekend. I love traveling and am thrilled that my husband is as much into adventure and being spur of the moment as I am. Some of our favorite hikes include but are not limited too: Angel's Landing (Zion National Park) Goat Rock Trail (Hot Springs National Park) Humpback Rocks (Blue Ridge Parkway) and Pikes Peak (Pike National Forest). We have traveled from coast to coast and still have so much more to see.
I started taking pole dancing classes in May 2015 and now am lucky to have a pole of my own at home. Not only is it great for fitness and working out, but it gives you self confidence too! I try to practice at least 2-3 times a week but it really depends on how I am feeling and what I am up to that week. I just recently started taking aerial silks and hoop classes and that is even more of a workout so usually I am found just doing yoga the days following. It's intense! You are literally fighting against gravity in order to pull yourself onto the silks and then using pure upper body and the occasional foot lock to pull yourself up. Even though it is physically demanding, it's addicting too! I can't wait to see how far I can go doing silks & hoop.
When I am not doing pole, silks, or running, you can find me in the gym. I like to take care of my health after being incredibly sick for so long (Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma). I think being happy makes you healthy and being healthy makes you happy. It goes hand in hand. I'm not one of those people who only eats healthy though. While I do eat small portions, I love to cook and that doesn't stop me from making fried foods or pizza. And of course, I can't live without my tacos and wings!
I am big into arts and crafts and DIY type projects. I have been knitting for over 10 years and have to say I am quite good at it. I just started dabbling in crocheting and well, seem to be pretty good at that too. I also make my own bath bombs and bath salts. Yes, I am obsessed with Lush but the price is not great so I decided to make my own. And I can't forget sewing either. I have been making tee shirt quilts and clothes. I've made a couple of shirts and skirts before but my favorite is quilting. I'm just crafty!

I am also branching out into photography. Check out my photography portfolio and contact me if you have any questions or want to set up a photoshoot! I like to shoot in natural light and adore the golden hour photoshoots.
Now that you know about me, you'll probably want to know what I blog about! I focus primarily on
travel which includes hotels, services, experiences, restaurants, and everything in between. When i'm not doing travel blogging, I do product reviews. Whether it is a company, a fitness product, or a book (just to name the minimum) I promote companies on social media and am always open to a sponsored post, either monetary or in exchange for a free product. I also like to write about my fitness (pole, aerial, running, gym) as well as recipes and knitting projects. That's the just of who I am and what I do.
