Prenatal DHA Review

Prenatal DHA for Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Moms.  Mega 325mg of DHA.  Your RDA in Just one Easy Swallow Softgel with a Very Mild Lemon Flavor.  Best Quality Raw Ingredients rated 5* under the IFOS (International Fish Oil Standards) criteria for raw ingredients.  Purified to Eliminate Mercury and made in the USA.

It is recommended that women take 300mg/day of DHA during pregnancy, and that all adults have an intake of 650mg of omega 3 each day.  In Our Prenatal DHA, there is a total of 820mg omega-3 fatty acids, so although this is launched within our AVASIA Prenatal range, and perfectly complements our AVASIA prenatal multivitamin, it can be taken by anyone, anyday.

Of the omega-3 fatty acids, DHA is particularly important during pregnancy because it accumulates in the brain and retina (eye) of developing babies and is considered key to ensuring the proper development of both.  There are some studies that suggest that EPA (430mg/softgel) can slightly lengthen the gestation time of pregnancy, and may assist in mood control thus reducing the risk of post partum depression.  At the other end of life, omega-3 is credited with many benefits, not least joint mobility.

By continuing to take at least 300mg of DHA per day whilst breastfeeding, this provides the same levels of DHA in the breast milk that a baby would get if it was fed with DHA enhanced formula milk. This is relevant because some studies have shown better mental performance and hand-eye co-ordination when DHA enhanced infant formula is given, compared to infant formula without DHA.

Many Prenatal and omega-3 products on the market simply do not give you the recommended RDA for pregnancy, or indeed any other time of life.  The AVASIA Prenatal DHA gives you all this in one softgel.  Although the softgel is quite large, it is shaped for easy swallowing, and has a mild lemon flavor.  As a result, we guarantee no fishy burps and no aftertaste!  The softgels contain no artificial color, flavor or sweetener, no preservatives, no sugar, no starch, no milk, no lactose, no gluten, no wheat, no yeast and no sodium.

First off, this is NOT a prenatal VITAMIN. It is on the other hand a supplement that should be taken during pregnancy to help the best of your baby. I'm not pregnant nor can I get pregnant due to having cancer twice, but I do have a friend who lives next door who is pregnant and has been looking for something to try during her pregnancy. There are no fishy burps or after tastes and she doesn't notice a different in anything which is great. Her doctor even said it was a great addition for her to take during her pregnancy. She highly recommends this and therefore, so I do!
