This is a really great investment for the active one in your life. I am a hiker, rock climber and runner so I like to keep track of how my breathing is which includes my pulse and oxygen rate. Since we are at a high elevation, I am able to pay special attention to when I am pushing myself and where I am at. This is a great oximeter since it is easy to read and comes in a small portable size. I highly recommend this to anyone! But be warned, it's not for your "health" its for recreation uses.
