I really like these teething accessories for our baby carrier!  They are designed for an ergo, so the front protector would need to be modified for our lillebaby if we decide to front face.  The fabric is extremely soft, and our daughter seems to enjoy licking it.  Much easier to take these off and wash then having to wash the carrier completely!  I think the pattern is a nice pattern for either gender too. 

Overall, I would buy another set of these, but I do wish the front part was a bit more flexible for other carriers.  It's unlikely we will front face though.

These are pretty fantastic measuring spoons. I love stainless steel because they are easier to clean than plastic and last far longer than plastic spoons. Book Review: War of Rain & The Godess: A War of Rain

War of Rain

Both of these novels are a pretty interesting read for me as it's not something I typically pick up. While I still consider myself a young adult (27 is a young adult right?) I still tend to read young adult novels. On my night stand right now are a couple of novels consisting of Mrs. Peregrine, John Green novels, Where She Went, and a collection of the Wicked Will Rise. I took a break from those and read the novels I was gifted with; The War of Rain and The Goddess: A War of Rain. As I lay there in bed reading the ebooks, something I also typically do not do because I prefer the hardcover books, I thought about how I was already intrigued with these stories from the start of chapter 1. I am not the type of person who likes to give away the stories, so I won't go into too much detail, but I'll give you a brief summary of my thoughts on both novels and then you can read them for yourself to compare.

 

Beginning with  War of Rain, this novel is about a 15 year old Miri. She grows up in a world where the Earth has become almost toxic. On the other hand, Rain, the only source of clean water can only be occurring through prayer. Although they live in a demised planet, they do live peacefully. The other side; the Stratos barbarians, are known for being violent and terroristic. It makes it hard to pray for rain because of this. Unfortunately, Miri sparks a war when she ended up killing one of the barbarians. This is where it gets really interesting and where I'll actually leave off from saying any further. I couldn't put it down and found myself staying up all night just to find out what happens next. You will not be disappointed even if you haven't read this genre before!

 

The Goddess of Rain is very similar in terms of how well written it is. This is the sequel to War of Rain and is every bit just as great. The characters are Clara and her two brothers, who ultimately have a secret that they try to hide. I won't tell that secret due to the fact that it would give away the entire story, but it is one that you would never expect. I couldn't put this novel down and have already passed this to another friend to read because I was just that much in love with it. I cannot say enough great things about the author and the way she writes. It leaves you wanting more before you finish...

This vegetable steamer is great for making any fresh veggies for meals. It's like your average steamer in which it changes sizes to fit the pans that you will be using it. Unlike those average steamers though, this one is a higher quality and comes with a julienne peeler as well. It's very easy to use also. You place your steamer in the pan, fill with a small amount of water. I usually use a half cup for the size of the pot pictured. Place the vegetables in the steamer and then cover with a lid and bring to a boil. I than let it sit covered while the steam continues to come out of the lid until my vegetables are tender. Some things I leave in for longer than others depending on how well I want them steamed. Broccoli and cauliflower I leave in for less than carrots as I like them a little crunchy. But corn and carrots I leave in for a while because I like them squishy soft. I highly recommend this steamer because of it's high quality and great customer service. I unfortunately have broken my ankle and am limited from doing pretty much anything including riding our bikes, but just from giving this a quick try on my bike, it fits really well. I can't say too much yet just because it's only been sitting on it and not actually riding my bike but in this instance, I like it. It's very cushioned and wide. It won't fit your typical mountain bike but it does fit our cruisers. You can even put it on a riding exercise bicycle and it will work just as well as on your bikes.  I take aerial silks and hoop in which leotards are the item of choice because of how much contact we have with the silks. I always wear a pair of capris over my leotard for that exact reason (silk burns to the thighs are not comfortable). This is just a simple black leotard that is extremely comfortable. It is great that I can still wear child sizes so that I can find leotards for a great price. The tank top is comfortable and doesn't pull. If you have a larger bust you won't be able to wear this because it is a kids leotard but if you are like me and are short and small, you'll be just fine with it also. It's elastic and comfortable. It doesn't ride up like most other leotards do. And I can easily move within it while performing and practicing. I highly recommend this product and brand for anyone who dances.
