This smart key finder seems pretty ingenious. You attach this little square shaped keychain with a button on it onto any item you wish to be able to keep track of. The box is fairly small but it contains not only the monitor but an extra battery, instructions as well as the lanyard. I didn't know it was an extra battery and opened it to find a battery already included. Very nice! So, I installed the app and started playing around with it. You can attach it to anything (purse, phone, etc). In the app, you name the item that you have it placed on. When you press the button, it syncs with the app. You open the app and it tells you if it is relatively close to you or if it is far away.
It's quite nifty and would easily make great gifts for people always losing stuff or those who are aging and can't remember where they put something. The only downfall I have found is that it does use a lot of your phone battery when it comes to looking for something not nearby. I had a student of mine go and hide with the monitor and it took a couple of minutes to find it and locate the beep. But during that time, I lost 12% of battery. The other thing is the beeps. It's not super loud so if you are far away you really have to listen for it. Aside from that, it is pretty neat. I don't know if I'll use this too much but I do have friends who will!
