Summary: Maryanne Torres is a compassionate nurse who fails at relationships. After a string of losers, she swears off sex to land a marrying man. But a party she attends turns into a drinking binge, and she is raped. Lucas Knight is a biracial athlete intent on winning the Ironman Triathlon. He finds Maryanne the next morning bloody and unconscious. Since Maryanne cannot identify her attacker, he becomes the prime suspect. When Maryanne finds herself pregnant, she plans to abort, but the identity of her rapist is hidden in the baby's DNA. A trap is set. Lucas races to clear his name, but the secret Maryanne hides threatens to drown their chance for true love.

My Review: I should begin by saying that it has been quite a while since I have read a good Christian novel. I haven't been the best at my Christian ways since going through chemo and going through a lot of hurt from people who should be there from you. That said, when I was given the chance to read this book complimentary from Tomoson.com, I decided that I would give it a go. I usually know within the first 2-3 chapters of a book whether or not I will like the book or even finish it for that matter. When I started reading this one, I was shocked at how much emotion comes out within the first chapter alone. It has some very touchy subject matter (rape & abortion)  The story of Maryann and Lucas is one of trust and young love. I feel a little bit like Maryann in the ways that she has such poor self esteem and I can follow those traits. There were a few parts of the story that I was a little confused about, only because most of it was stuff I cannot stand in real life. The breaking up and getting back together constantly bugged me because it happened so much. I was able to put most of it together by the end of the book and was satisfied with how it ended. As you read this book, you come up with your own thought and opinions on the characters, possibly liking one character over another (ie, I didn't like Maryanne by the middle of the book and Lucas was portrayed as this prince charming but I didn't feel it.) Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants something that will keep them reading and not wanting to put the book down. I think it is great for those young adults who are transitioning into womanhood. I give it an A overall.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
